i have to post about circa survive
A little background story...I think I was around the age of 17 and I was watching Mtv and saw this random show which showcased bands that are not that big or bands that are up and coming. Circa Survive was one of them and I can't remember the song that was one but I did not like it at the time.
Fast forward a few years to college and in my sophomore year I met a kid from New York City and he was all about Circa Survive and had almost all of their albums. He even knew really interesting facts about the band.
After hanging with him for year, I have grown to appreciate Circa Survive and now they would considered in top 20 list of bands if I made one.
Here is a music video a very good song by them and it's called - Act Appalled. Enjoy!

A Quarter Not Worth 25 cents?
Okay today I was getting ready to go to the gas station and get a snack with my girlfriend when I grabbed my change off my desk, some quarters, dimes and nickels, and then I realized one quarter didn't look right. It had smooth edges. I recently took a class and my professor enjoyed giving us useless facts throughout the class and one of them was that before 1964, quarters we made out of 90% silver, which back in that time, silver was worth more money than what a quarter was worth. People would shave their quarters down and get more money for the shavings because pure silver was worth a good price. Once the Mint found this out they took action and tried to solve this problem. After 1965 the quarter was composed of copper and nickel, which some may know that those two materials are not worth very much. So the rigid edges added to the quarters were put into place and that way the banks would know if someone tried to shave the quarter or not because there would be smooth edges, like the 1966 quarter I have. To bad because the 1966 quarter had no silver in it at all.
I have found a website that interested me and help me come to my conclusion I have mentioned above.
http://www.coinfacts.com/quarter_dollars/washington_quarter_dollars/1966_quarter_dollar.htm
I have found this information to be very interesting...
When the Coinage Act of 1965 was passed, it became mandatory that the Mint continue to use the 1964 date on all 90 percent silver coins (half-dollar coins, quarter-dollar coins, and 10-cent coins). Therefore, all of the 90 percent silver coins that the Mint manufactured in 1964, 1965, and 1966 bears the date 1964. The last of the 90 percent silver quarter-dollar coins was struck in January 1966
Maybe my 1966 quarter is originally silver but stamped 1966 instead of '64.

I just wanted to post something
Let's see what has been going on lately since my last post. I have to put up some photos of my sisters grad party. I think I only have a few and they weren't very good. Last night my girlfriend and I took out a very close friend of ours and showed him a great time. We had a few drinks and went to a few bars. It was great weather for sitting outside and talking and catching up on life.
Today, my girlfriend took me to Chuckie Cheese so we could see her 3 year old cousin. It was her birthday and she had a blast! I think i made a new friend because she kept coming to me giving me her tickets and telling me to "Hold on to deez peez" I was a lot of fun and we had some EXTREMELY sugary cake mixed with all of the other loud kid running around and some pop and pizza. Sometimes I wish I was still young.
Here are a few photos:

let me bring it back for a little bit!
Do any of you remember Prodigy?
Well Prodigy was started in 1990 by a Englishman named Liam Howlett. The band was formed in Braintree, Essexx, England. Through out their career Prodigy has sold over 17 million records which out numbers any other dance musician in the business. Their music ranges from industrial, rave, break beats, and electronica.
There are now only three members in the band and yes the band is still around. The three left in the band are, Liam (creator, vocals, and keyboards), Keith Flint (dancer/vocalist) and Maxim Reality (MC/vocalist). Leeroy Thornhill (dancer/very occasional live keyboards) was a member of the band from 1990 to 2000.
Prodigy recently came out with a newer album which is said to be better than anything they have put out. The new album, Invaders Must Die, was released on November 5, 2008. This album featured artist such as Dave Grohl(Nirvana, Foo-Fighters).
Here is an newer video from Prodigy called Warrior Dance from their album, Invaders Must Die. I have got to say they still got it.

There is Light at the End of the Tunnel
Okay, today is now Thursday and I have been working very hard in my classes I am taking and also off campus at my job. Everyday I wake up I have to keep in my mind that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. For my job off campus I keep tell myself that there is a paycheck every two weeks. That is nice part about that side. On the other hand, my night class on Tuesday's is starting to get intense really fast. I am currently in Human Diversity and Social Justice with Dr. Gary Bachman. He is a great professor but I don't think I have ever been in a class that had so much reading. All I keep telling myself is that I have to stay on top of the readings and papers and not fall behind because it is only an 8 week class.
While doing all of this work for class and off campus I can't forget about my music and photography.
Here is a youtube video (song) that I think all of you might enjoy!
Listen to it while studying or reading...it's very comforting!
I took some photos over the past couple of days and I will try and get them up soon! I also want to use my flip camera and so be looking out for that as well.

You have heard about The Soloist (The Movie) Here is the Real Thing!!
Mr. Foxx and Mr. Downey Jr. do great jobs portraying Mr. Lopez and Mr. Ayers. (As you can tell I am using Mr. Watch the video above and you will understand)

Why is it always a little bit off?
I just recently started the book, The Soloist, after I saw the movie which I think was a bad idea. I have never read the book first then went to see the movie. Overall, I am not a big reader anyway, but for a class I am currently in I have to read a book of a list the professor gave us and write a report on it.(5th grade all over again)
This book compared to the movie has some pretty large differences in it that any one who can read will spot these quickly. I really wish I could state some of them but just in case someone happens to stumble upon this post, I do not want anyone reading this and having it spoil the movie and or book.
Go see/read it for yourself!

This weekend I went back to Omaha for my sister's graduation party from graduate school. She now has he Master's degree in Business and Leadership and is only 22 years old. I am 21 years old and am not even done with my 4 year bachelor's degree. The video above is a short video of the party before everyone got there.
Last night me and my girlfriend went to go see the movie "The Hangover". This movie was hilarious! Zach Galifinakis made the movie. The movie is about 4 guys going to Las Vegas for a bachelor's party and not remembering what exactly happened. They go through a lot of shiz to finally get back on track. I don't want to give away the movie and so I will leave it at that.

Lets start more classes....Why Not???
Okay, I just started my second summer class today and it is called Human Diversity and Social Justice. It's pretty cool but there is going to a ton of reading to do in the next 8 weeks. It looks like I have to kiss my summer goodbye. One of the books I have the "choice" of reading is The Soloist. If anyone you out there who read my blog, I have seen and written a small review on The Soloist. Now, I have to find the book, (done, I found it on Amazon for 4$) and read the damn thing. I am usually not a big reader but, this one might be different.
So what else is going on in my life. Oh, I think because I started these two classes I don't think I will have much time for photography so that stinks. However, I always try and carry my Flip camera on me where ever I go.
Well I know some people don't like just reading the blogs so I will post something interesting here at the end.
Check out Kate Havnevik! She is really good!! She will be on tour soon with my personal favorite, The Scene Aesthetic and Owl City
